From Scrap to Sculpture Metal Workshop

Dive into the world of scrap metal sculpture! Whether you come to find inspiration in our collection of scrap metal or you have found or scrap metal jewels of your own. This workshop is designed to bring those scrap metal dreams to life! Work with our metal studio staff to turn those inspirational metal objects and ideas into sculptural realities. To make this happen we will have the entire metal studio at our disposal. Participants will finish this single day workshop, if not with finished work then, with clear understanding of how to finish their sculpture. Along the way we will discuss and demonstrate a variety of approaches to working with metal.
Workshop size is limited to provide one on one time as each idea will have it’s own set of steps and solutions. Participants are encouraged to contact the metal studio coordinator before hand to briefly discuss their ideas and hopes for the workshop. Starworks scrap and found metal is available, but students are encouraged to bring their own findings. No experience required.

Cost: $300 per student, space is limited. Register below.
Time: 9:30am-3:30pm (one hour lunch break, lunch not provided, cafe on site)
Location: Starworks, 100 Russell Drive, Star, NC
Safety: Students must wear protective clothing such as closed toed shoes or boots and cotton denim pants. Instructor reserves the right to refuse any student from participating for not wearing these items. Please refrain until after your hands on workshop to enjoy an alcoholic beverage from our Cafe & Taproom. Please note that studio temps may be high during warmer months, and while using metalworking equipment. We encourage you to drink plenty of water and take breaks as needed. Students must be 16+. No experience required.
Check In & Cancellations: Check in at the School House Gallery at Starworks. (Main Entrance) Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to class date. Cancellations made after that date will not be refunded.
