Artist Talks

Artist Talks at Starworks are free and open to the public. Guests are invited to meet featured visiting artists, watch and learn as they present slides and discuss their process and influence, and ask questions about their works.

Treat Yourself - Starworks Cafe & Taproom is open during this event and proudly serves a variety of craft NC beer, delicious wine, coffee & lattes, smoothies, and much more.


Celia Feldberg

CELIA FELDBERG is a ceramicist, illustrator, and current long-term resident artist at The Clay Studio of Philadelphia. She holds a BFA in ceramics from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She has exhibited at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, Flower City Pottery Invitational, and in galleries nationally. Celia has taught at community studios and craft schools including Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and Snow Farm. She was selected as a 2026 Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist and her work has been featured by Homo Faber, The Ceramic Shop, Pottery Making Illustrated, and Tales of A Red Clay Rambler. Celia was the glaze technician for Ben Carter’s Complete Guide to Low-Fire Glazes for Potters and Sculptors. 


Chikuang Lee

CHIKUANG LEE born in 2002 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, graduated in 2024 with a B.F.A. in the Department of Arts and Design, National Taipei University of Education. In 2025, he was admitted to the Graduate Institute of Applied Arts at Tainan National University of the Arts(currently on academic leave), Now residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. 

In 2024, he held his solo exhibition “Dim Core – Deformed Remodeling”, presenting a body of work developed during his undergraduate studies as a concluding milestone. That same year, he was awarded First Prize in the Sculpture Category at the 28th Chia Yi Art Exhibition and was selected for the 25th Huang Si Art Exhibition. In 2025, he participated in the “Hybrid” Annual Exhibition from the Graduate Institute of Applied Arts. In 2026,Selected for The 8th Taiwan Ceramic Golden Awards, organized by the Hocheng Cultural and Educational Foundation. 

His artistic practice centers on ceramics, mixed media, and found objects, often employing coil-building and plaster molding techniques. Lee’s work investigates marginalized social experiences, bodily perception, and urban subcultures—especially within the context of Taiwan’s youth and labor conditions. Through a poetic yet critical lens, his sculptures challenge material conventions and reflect on social structure, environmental fragility, and collective memory. 


Sarah Vaughn

Sarah Vaughn grew up in Southern Illinois, discovering glass while pursuing a BFA at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and has been exploring the material ever since. Upon graduating, she was honored as the sole winner of the Rickert-Ziebold Trust Award, a prestigious competition for graduating seniors in Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally, receiving numerous accolades, and featured in publications such as Emerge 2008 and 2012, Glass Art Magazine, and New Glass Review. After receiving her MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2014, she was awarded a Research and Creativity Grant and invited to exhibit at SOFA Chicago. She has been a resident artist at the University of Oregon’s Erb Memorial Craft Center, The WORKS Museum in Ohio, Glass Wheel Studios, Urban Glass, Blowing Rock Art and History Museum, and recently completed a three-year residency at Penland School of Craft. She has forged several award-winning collaborative practices with fellow artists and friends. She enjoys life in the mountains of Western North Carolina, where she spends time with her dog while pursuing new veins of her work and fixing broken rocks.
