STARworks Ceramics Assistant Director Job Opportunity
Assisting the director of STARworks Ceramics in all facets of the residency and clay production programming
Assisting with events and conferences
Overseeing a small production line of STARworks Ceramics products
Maintaining studio equipment, clay processing equipment, and day to day needs of the ceramics studio; maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality
Assisting with the development of high quality programs for ceramic education, events and exhibitions
Assisting staff in project administration tasks
Helping to plan projects and grant applications
Helping and scheduling clay production, and assisting with testing of clays
The Assistant Director of STARworks Ceramics reports directly to the Director of STARworks Ceramics.
Masters degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, visiting artists, and the general public.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds frequently, with reasonable accommodations
Must be a professional with a high degree of attention to detail
Must have a strong work ethic and discipline
Must have some experience in Microsoft Office software applications
Experience in a non-profit arts organization
Experience repairing electric kilns, electric wheels and basic electrical equipment
Clay making experience
Experience operating forklift and bobcat
Knowledge about ceramics materials and tools
Knowledge about testing clays and glazes
Customer and technical support service experience a plus
Some experience in common administrative and accounting tasks
Experience using website and social media tools, such as Facebook and Instagram
Ability to organize work flow and multi-task effectively
Pay and Benefits:
Salary $36,000/year, studio benefits, generous paid time off and holidays, 403b retirement plan , dental and basic life insurance
